About us

Young leaders, rooted in Nakuru

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nakuru and part of Rotary International’s global Rotaract family, we have spent a decade turning energy into impact.

Nakuru’s home of young leaders in action

Rotaract Club of Menengai is a member of Rotary International’s global Rotaract family — a vibrant club of young professionals and students, roughly 18 and over, living the motto Service Above Self. We are sponsored by Rotary Club of Nakuru and part of Rotary District 9215.

Our archive records activities including cleaning our rivers, welcoming new mothers at Bondeni Maternity, supporting students, and hosting Nakuru’s young people in fellowship every Thursday.

What we value

Three values. One purpose.

Community

We show up for the people around us — from new mothers at Bondeni to families on the streets of Nakuru.

Leadership

Through mentorship, a book club and financial-literacy drives, we grow professionals and citizens of impact.

Service

Service Above Self — from mother pack distributions to planting with learners at Pangani Special School.

The Rotary connection

Same motto. Same areas of focus.

Rotaract is Rotary’s young-leaders arm for adults aged 18 and over. We run our own club leadership, supported by our sponsor — for us, Rotary Club of Nakuru — and we work inside Rotary’s seven areas of focus, from the environment to maternal health to peacebuilding.

Our district

Part of Rotary District 9215

We belong to Rotary District 9215 — a district established for 2026/27, covering West of Nairobi, Western Kenya, South Sudan. More than 100 clubs and 3,000 Rotarians serve across it, and Rotaractors are brought into project leadership at district level.

  • Water, sanitation & hygiene — Moving beyond boreholes to community water committees and hygiene education in South Sudan and Western Kenya, so clean water lasts and children stay in school.
  • Basic education & literacy — Digital-literacy labs, solar power and teacher training that keep schools thriving long after the project ends.
  • Peace & conflict prevention — Training young leaders in conflict management in regions navigating transition or post-conflict recovery.
